Family Radio's May and October 21st poop is hitting the rotary blades.
In order to promote their fantasy "latter rain" period of salvation that allegedly began after their fantasy "silence in heaven" period when no one was becoming saved (supposedly because there was no audible "joy in heaven" that could be heard from the angels' singing and harps when a sinner repented), the Campingites claimed that the two witnesses were to bring the gospel to the world after the 3.5 days of being overcome and killed (supposedly by the evil church people) and left unburied in the street of the great city. Their justification for this idea came from sifting out the phrase "stand upon thy feet" in Acts 26:17 (see below) and applying it to Revelation 11:11.
Re 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
It seems that, according to their calendar gospel, because Paul stood upon his feet after falling to the ground and was told to deliver the gospel to the Gentiles, the two witnesses were also to bring the gospel after being dead in the streets of the great city for 3.5 days on account of the similar phrase found in Revelation 11:11: "stood upon their feet".
Paul's experience:
Ac 26:12 ¶ Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Wow! Talk about adding to the Bible! Nowhere in Revelation 11 do we read anything about the two witnesses bringing the gospel into the world after they finished their testimony, were overcome, killed, given the Spirit of life and stood upon their feet. Where do the date setters get their chutzpah from?
Paul ("Saul" at the time) was not told to "stand upon his feet" to spread the gospel. Paul was told to stand upon his feet because he had fallen to the ground.
This is what happened to the two witnesses after they were overcome and killed after their testimony was finished:
Re 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
1. The Spirit of life entered into them;
2. They stood upon their feet;
3. Great fear fell on those who saw them;
4. They heard a voice from heaven, saying, "Come up hither";
5. They ascended up to heaven;
6. Their enemies beheld them.
The two witnesses stood upon their feet, but they were not commanded to bring the gospel to anyone! There would be no logical reason for them to be overcome and killed for 3.5 days "after" their testimony was finished if they were continue to spread the gospel into the world.
The Campingites are holding a creative Bible re-writing contest right now, to try to cover up their shame.
As if they don't have enough headaches, here is another problem for the Campingites. The dry bones (the "whole house of Israel") also stood upon their feet when Ezekiel was told to prophesy to them.
Ez 37:10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
These bones stood upon their feet, but they were dried up, hopeless and cut off. They were buried in graves (vv. 12-13), but the two witnesses of Revelation 11 were left unburied.
Re 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
Compare with:
Jer 7:33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
Jer 25:33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
Re 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
Harold Camping's salvation program in a nutshell:
Salvation from Pentecost until 1988;
No salvation (virtually) until 1994;
Salvation until May 21, 2011 (only through Family Radio);
No salvation (maybe) between May 21 and October 21, 2011;
Seriously?
Jer 25:29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
